About the Magic of Ray

I have been doing magic since I was 10 years old. My obsession with magic began when my parents bought me a beginning magic kit while vacationing in Florida. Within hours, I was performing for my whole family.

Every year, my family took a trip down to Florida to visit my great grandparents. I always enjoyed this trip with my family. One year, we found a magic shop in Orlando Florida. The Old Town Magic Shop opened my eyes to the wonderful world of magic. It was there where I learned about all the different varieties of magic, from close up to stage.

At the age of 13, I performed my first official magic show for the Muskegon Elk's Lodge children's Christmas party. From there, I went on to perform numerous other birthday parties, school functions, banquets, family reunions, etc..

In August of 1997, I learned of the annual Abbott's Magic Get-Together in Colon, Michigan, the magic capital of the world. I have performed three times in their junior stage competition. These competitions taught me an enormous amount about performing on stage. I graduated from Muskegon Catholic Central High School in 2000. In 1999, I performed in 'Floodlight Fever,' the school's talent show. In 2000, I represented MCC at the West Michigan Student Showcase. Here, I competed against 15 area high schools. I took first place in the individual category.

I have since graudated from Kendall College of Art and Design with a degree in Visual Communication \ Graphic Design.
